JIPMER, Pondicherry. 1960s.
My Aunt - Dad's older sister - studied medicine at JIPMER, Pondicherry. (She's not in this photograph.) This picture was probably taken during some event. It seems to be part of a series. There are others in the albums from probably the same occasion - banners welcoming guests, the welcome committees and the guests arriving. This is probably from when one of the guests arrived. The guest seems to be a firang. What struck me was the lady in the left of the picture, walking away trying to suppress her laughter...:-)
